Opera Posted by Benzyl on 2008-11-19 11:23:26 My Score:
Under OSX IE is no longer updated Firefox is a slug and Safari is feature poor, Opera 9.2 as well as being fast compliant and feature rich has quite a few of the small annoying bugs that had been around for a while fixed in this version, overall about the best bet for Apples.

Opera Posted by nofile404 on 2008-09-03 20:12:57 My Score:
Like the last poster I''ve been using Opera so long I can''t remember when I started...I do remember it wasn''t in THIS century, though.
One other benefit of opera not mentioned above is in the context menue>insert personal...It''s supposed to be for your address, etc.
I found that using the entries for username/password listings makes it very easy to log in without depending on the browswer remembering to fill in the entries. A few seconds saved typing times 365 days times the different forums, etc., I access daily makes that quite worthwhile.
I''ve used three versions of IE, two (IE2)Maxithon, two Firefox, Wyzo, Slimbrowser and some others I can''t even remember...and ALWAYS come back to Opera. ''cuz it works!
The only reason the others even take up disk space is for webpages which are optimized for IE. Then Wyzo or Maxithon work. I don''t use IE in any version. The antiquated Java MS insists on is a real pain.

Another feature of Opera (it should be something that every other browser do naturaly, but ... you can judge by yourself) : you can open many (over 30) tabs in a window, without the browser slurping every bit of available RAM your system has. It is very convenient, especially when you search something - just middleclick the results you want, without worrying about slowdowns and memory leaks, then quickly select the opened tabs and close the ones you are not interested in.
You can TRY this with Firefox, if you have time to lose ....

Opera is the best browser out there - it is extremely fast, secure and the integration of its features beats everything that Firefox can offer.
The downside is that it does not have so many extensions as Firefox.
However, the builtin ones are superb - the Links, the Download manager, the smooth and hyperfast all page Zoom feature, the user and author CSS quick switch (you have to see it in action, and then you will not believe that you can effectively use a browser without it).

That`s one opinion, yours, but IMHO, Opera has the best of all worlds, It`s faster than any other, and It`s extremely secure, which is more than I can say abuot IE and Firefox. I have been using opera since v.4 and I will never go back to another browser.
Btw, the mail client works like a charm, and if you ever used googlemail, you`ll find it to be veeeery easy to work with.
Conclusion: THUMB UP for Opera!!
